Kenya’s hip hop maestro Abbas Kubaff has broken the silence. One of the K-South group rappers who later chose to go solo hasn’t released any song for some while and will be releasing a new album soon. Abbas says he’s been underground with an aim of sorting out a number of urgent issues including family affairs among others.
Some of the artists that Abbas has worked with include Bamboo, Khaligragh Jones, Wyre, Victoria Kimani and Prezzo. Abbas is famous for his tracks among them Tokelezea, Chapaa, Nairoberry, Reality Cheque et cetera.
He also has a number of awards on his legacy including Chaguo La Teeniez award in 2008 and the Golden Mic award of 2011.
The hip hop legend is famous for his speech that involves lyrics all along is quoted to have said, “Nilikua chini ya maji nikipigana maTEKE na nyaNGUMI.”
Abbas is a Kariobangi South icon currently staying in the United Kingdom but will be flying back to the 254. He spoke to Tambua Magazine live from London and said that he is working on his new album which will be out soon.
Asked about the news that once spread in the media of him running insane, Abbas laughed and said that in life haters must say what they want.
“Acha wabonge, kama singekua na mahaters ningekua a bit worried.”
