Born Kimathi wa Waciuri, Kenya’s number one spiritual leader left us on this date 18th February 1957. Personally to date I still count Dedan Kimathi as a Real Life Star whenever I view my nation via colored or colorless specs.
Honestly, without the efforts of Kimathi we wouldn’t be celebrating the Real Life Stars in Kenya. Both Musicians, Designers, Actors, Managers, Producers, Comedians, Leaders etc are a product of Dedan Kimathi’s execution 63years ago. His dedication, wisdom and sacrifice gave us the +254 we have today. The courage that this icon had is the number one reason Kenya can empower the boy child through talent and the girl child through education.
The poor can feel some courage to change and live better lives just because Dedan Kimathi’s lessons inspired us on how to dedicate ourselves and see changes day in day out.
Never live a slave in your life, never live with negativity in your heart, love to be loved, appreciate peace and unity but just like Martin Luther King said….’Peace is more important than all justice; and peace was not made for the sake of justice, but justice for the sake of peace.’
Live in our hearts Dedan Kimathi, the Real Life Stars of our generation salute you for all your sacrifice and courage.
